You’ll probably hear us talk about Mindfulness a lot around here. You may have even seen Mindfulness talked about online, at your school, with your medical provider.
Mindfulness is the conscious, non-judgmental act of being fully present with ourselves and our surroundings. It is about focusing on one thing at a time, and allowing ourselves to just be. Imagine if you could take just one minute each day to just be, without any expectation or pressure to do or say anything? That’s a mindful moment.
So often, we spend our days rushing from one task to the next, or even juggling two, three, maybe four tasks at one time! It’s not very often that we get a chance to slow down and just be present doing one thing. Research says that Mindfulness can help with lowering stress and help us relax. You know we could all use a little more of that!
